I'm celebrating the 2021 CBCA

I'm stoked to be on the First Nations with Daniel Browning panel. The panel includes amazing writers, Nardi Simpson and Mykaela Saunders. There will also be a very special reading by Mununjali poet Ellen van Neerven.

I'm running a workshop called Writing YA with the ACT Writers Centre. I'll be exploring all things YA with participants, and using practical exercises to find the heart of your story. Please bring an idea of piece you're working on.

Both workshops will explore the idea of slow looking and how art can open up your writing. I'll challenge you to look closely at the portraits, find connections that speak to you and locate the story.
